Do I really need an exam and possibly x-rays to get adjusted?
In order to evaluate your condition/injury your doctor will do a comprehensive exam which may include x-ray imaging of your area of complaint. This is to insure that the doctor has all the information to give you the most accurate diagnosis. Then the doctor can use that information to come up with the best treatment plan for your problem.
HOw long does it take to get better?
Recovery depends on several factors including age, joint health, the severity of the injury and the effectiveness of the treatment plan. Your doctor will take all these factors into account to come up with the best combinations of spinal adjustments, therapy and stretching to achieve the maximum results in the shortest amount of time.
will treatment hurt?
Some discomfort during the examination and possibly during the treatment is to be expected especially during the first few treatments but this should improve quickly. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how quickly they feel better. Our goal as doctors is to relieve pain and improve your quality of life through better function, better sleep and renewed vitality.
will my insurance pay for chiropractic care?
Most major health insurance plans cover Chiropractic care. We will do our best to let you know what is covered and what the costs of care will be when you see our doctors. We have experts that will check your particular insurance benefits and explain them to you before you receive care. If the doctor recommends a treatment that is not covered by insurance we make every effort to make the out of pocket expense for that service affordable.
WIll i have to see a chiropractor the rest of my life once i get adjusted?
The decision to pursue a Chiropractic treatment plan or a single adjustment is always up to you. Most patients benefit from an initial treatment plan involving several visits over the course of a few weeks. After that then regular adjustments to maintain optimal function and a pain free life. Most patients WANT to see a Chiropractor regularly once the realize how effective a Chiropractor's treatment can be.
